Junah Rose Badua ( Zamboanga City )

When I first got to Zamboanga City i never appreciated there place because of the climate. zamboanga City is too hot, to the point that you want to swim in a swimming pool with cold water and drink a lot of water or eat halo-halo instead.

But as we travel more i found out that the base of the military and navy of the Philippines are there. the picture taken was the place where we stayed because my uncle was an army of the Philippines and he said to us that it is much more safer to stay there and its cheaper than on a hotel.

Zamboanga City is also known  as one of the oldest cities in the Philippines. Originally inhabited by the Subanon tribe, it became a Spanish outpost in the 17th century.
The Spaniards built a stone fortress that stands to this day. Fort Pilar is a historical, cultural and religious icon. On its eastern wall is a shrine revered by Catholics all over the country.
Inside the refurbished fort is a national museum that houses cultural artifacts and a showcase of the natural wealth of the region. When the Americans took over the city at the turn of the century they made it the capital of the Moro Province, which covered the whole of Mindanao. The Americans built Pasonanca Park, the City Hall and the golf course in Calarian, which is reputed to be the first golf course in the Philippines.

The Second World War brought the Japanese, but the Japanese left little of themselves here. The Zamboanga people are known for their friendliness and cheerful disposition. The women are famous for their beauty.

Zamboanga City is also known from it's different kind of festival, such as Hermosa Festival which is also known as La Hermosa Festival or Fiesta Pilar. The Festival is being held in honor of the miraculous image of Our Lady of the Pillar (Spanish and Chavacano: Nuestra SeƱora del Pilar), the patroness of Zamboanga City which is held in every 12 October. It is also the patroness of Zaragoza in Spain, the sister city of Zamboanga in Philippines.

The festival features so many different activities such us street dance competition were different schools in the city are fighting for the title, from the street to the main event which everyone will show their best talent. Major activities include the Wow Zamboanga showing the different tastes, talents and ideas to shows what your barangay has that others are not; Regatta De Zamboanga were the famous Vintas of Zamboanga are racing to win the title, one of the most awaited event inthe festivities; Cosechas De Zamboanga, sports events, musical concerts, agriculture-trade fairs, fashion show, chavacano song festival , Miss Zamboanga and other special events to be held every year.(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

And now my perception to Zamboanga City was change. Zamboanga City is a wonderful place to go to, you may never know you will meet the person you want to be with there, because as far as i have observed Chabakano's or Zamboangenyo's are very beautiful not only in women but also in men. you will really see that there are bloods of Spaniards spreding in our culture.
